With the rainy season upon us, we’re pretty sure there are days when you have to peel yourself off your bed to get the day started. But how can you launch your business if you’re still snoring the morning away?

Here, we list down some helpful productivity tips that can wake you up in the morning.

Start early. Before anything, try to get in the habit of waking up early. One of the habits of highly successful entrepreneurs is that they are early risers. When you get a head start, you have time to calibrate and review the things you have to accomplish for the day. How many times have you forgotten something on your to-do list because you’re rushing to get to the office on time? When you get into the habit of starting your day early, you not only make efficient use of your time, you also give yourself an allowance for any mishaps or challenges you need to deal with throughout the day.

Get your blood pumping. One way to train your body and mind to be active in the morning is to get your heart racing. Whether it’s a quick jog around your village or half an hour on the treadmill, waking up your body also stimulates your brain and prepares you for your demanding tasks at work.

List it down. You can start by reviewing what wasn’t accomplished the day before and prioritize what needs to be done first. List your to-dos in order of importance and difficulty. This way, you can manage your time wisely and maximize your effort. Note things that can be delegated, so that you don’t end up doing everything yourself.

Have breakfast. And we don’t mean just any kind of breakfast. A healthy breakfast can give you energy to power through your morning. A heavy, indulgent meal might make you sluggish and overall not in the mood to work. If having a cup of coffee is something that puts you in a good mood, go for it. Try not to rush through the meal, a few minutes of the day can be spent slowing down and treating yourself to some peace and quiet.

Meditate. You can chant a mantra that you believe in, use a meditation app on your phone, or simply just stay silent for a few minutes in the morning. Many people wake up in a panic either because they’re already late or they’re worried about everything that needs to be checked off on their to-do list. But giving yourself a few minutes each day to stay quiet and ease your mind into the workday can affect the way you approach your goals for the day. It makes you more intentional and helps keep you from jumping from one task to the other in a frenzy.

You can do everything on this list or start with one. See what works for you and adjust your mornings slowly until you find your rhythm.
